The story
Meet Phil.Founder & lead installer · Toronto
Twenty years on the tools. Phil started Blue Tile & Marble the way most good shops start — one job at a time, refusing to ship anything he wouldn’t want in his own home. Toronto homes mostly. The kind he grew up in.
Over time it became a small crew working across Toronto and the GTA — tile and stone, full washroom renovations, the framing that has to happen first. No volume work. No three-jobs-running-at-once. The standard isn’t up for negotiation.
Every project is run personally. That’s why the work comes out the way it does. It’s also why the same customers call back two and three jobs later — the standard doesn’t change between the first wall and the thirty-fifth.
The trade is in the family — Italian marble work, generations back. Phil grew up around it. To customers and crew, he’s Phil. To family, to the stone, to the craft, he’s Felice. Same craftsman, two names. The standard comes from the second.

What that actually looks like on a job.
Every shop says “quality.” Here’s what it means concretely the day Phil shows up at your house.
On the tools, not behind a desk
The person who quoted your job is the person on-site doing the work. No hand-offs to a crew you’ve never met, no “site supervisor” you can’t reach.
Waterproof first, tile second
Every wet zone gets a full Schluter Kerdi membrane before tile. The bit nobody sees is the bit that decides if a shower lasts twenty years or seven.
Show up. Clean up. Tell you what’s happening.
On-site daily. Floor protection down before demo. A text at the end of every day with what got done and what’s next. The job runs the way you’d run it.
Tile lines that line up
Grout joints match. Niches look like the wall was built around them, not cut into. Lippage you’d feel with bare feet doesn’t happen on our jobs.
